The University of Bath announced that its team, working together with researchers from the University of Cambridge and in partnership with agritech firm Lambda Agri, has developed a revolutionary spray technology. In field tests, it delivered a 9‑percent higher yield for basil crops compared with plants grown in untreated greenhouses.
According to the release, this greenhouse treatment technology works by converting blue light from sunlight into red light, the "most‑efficient" wavelength for photosynthesis. With more red light available for plants to utilise, crop growth is enhanced.
