Description
Technical Parameters

Substrate culture system is a proven complete soilless growing solution. Instead of soil, it uses coco peat, rock wool and other substrates for tomatoes, bell peppers and flowers. The elevated troughs match drip lines and fertigation gear to control nutrient levels accurately. It  widely used in film and polycarbonate greenhouses for overseas farms and seedling nurseries.

Main Components

Elevated grow gutters: hot-dip or fluorocarbon steel, resistant to nutrient liquid. The overall elevated design, positioned off the ground, isolates soil-borne pathogens and pests. The neatly arranged troughs are designed to accommodate coconut coir planting bags, with a bottom that drains water to prevent root rot. This design facilitates field harvesting and the construction of three-dimensional layered structures.

Supplies: coco grow bags, rock wool slabs.Suitable for high value-added crops such as strawberries, melons, and vegetables; equipped with rock wool boards for seedling cultivation and precise planting.

Irrigation set: pressure-compensating drippers and filters. Each bag of coconut coir substrate provides a consistent water supply, ensuring that water and fertilizer reach the roots directly, significantly saving water and reducing the risk of foliar diseases caused by high humidity.

Fertigation unit: real EC and pH reading. The secondary utilization of nutrient solution significantly reduces the cost of water, fertilizer, and consumables.

Optional nutrient recycling pipes

FAQ

Q: What is substrate culture, and how is it different from soil or hydroponic growing?

A: Substrate culture uses porous, neutral growing media like coco coir or rockwool to hold plant roots, while feeding water and nutrients directly. It combines the stability of regular soil farming but eliminates soil-borne pathogens.

Q: How often do I need to replace the substrate?

A: It depends on your crop type:

Quick-cycle crops: You can sterilize and reuse the substrate 2–3 rounds before full replacement.

Long-cycle crops: Swap out the substrate every 1–2 seasons. This stops nutrient buildup/deficiency and cuts disease risks.

Q: Can the system be integrated with automated irrigation or fertigation?

A: Absolutely. Our substrate growing system works with both manual and auto fertigation setups.Hook it up to timers or nutrient sensors to dose water and fertilizer exactly to match crop growth stages. This slashes labor costs and keeps plant growth uniform across your greenhouse.

Q: Can we customize layout for my greenhouse size?

A: Definitely. We custom-build every growing trough length and layout to perfectly match your greenhouse dimensions, space layout and planting plans.
