Many small farm operators have been testing different covering materials as they run their growing spaces through the cooler months. One grower, who runs a plot outside the town, said he swapped out his old covering and started using po film greenhouse for his leafy crop beds last spring.
He explained that he picked this material after talking to other farmers who had dealt with tearing and light issues on their older structures. It does not work perfectly for every kind of plant, and he still watches how moisture builds up inside each day. A neighbour, who grows flowering plants in a separate area, also set up a po film greenhouse on a smaller site to avoid the heavy maintenance needed for glass frames.
Both farmers note that the material needs careful handling during installation. Strong winds can catch the surface if edges are not secured properly, and regular checks are needed to spot small rips early. They do not think this covering is a one-size-fits-all fix, but it fits their current way of working on the farm.
